Catching Up a Bit "Happiness Is" Style!

Happiness is:

Having Kendra fly home for a week to go on vacation with us!

Going to the Bridge of Flowers in Shelbourne Falls, MA with the whole family--a place I've wanted to go to for a long time

Eating out in the deserted Holyoke Mall at 6 o'clock in the Food Court, and having the guys at the Chinese restaurant urge us over to heap our plates with all their leftover Teriaki Chicken, vegetables, lo mein and rice before they closed. We paid for it of course.

Swimming in the hotel pool with just our family.

Going to Six Flags and watching our kids holler and abuse their bodies riding the stupid roller coasters!!

Doing water raft rides with all 7 of us in one raft!

Floating down the river in a tube and having the attendant purposely grab my tube and push it under the waterfall.

Travelling to Quebec City with six of our family and camping for three nights near the St. Lawrence River.

A rippling brook right behind our tent site to remind me all night in the tent of growing up at the Hills.

S'mores all three nights around the campfire.

Driving to Krispy Kreme in Quebec City. Yes, they have one on Quebec and not in NH! for shame! Oh yes, and having free, hot donuts off the line plus 2 dozen to take with us.

My own bed at home after three nights on the ground!

Kendra to unpack everything, put it all away and put through umpteen loads of laundry for me after getting home. The others helped, also, but what a huge difference having her there made!

Watching Andy Griffith. Thanks, Son #1 for that 4th season for my birthday!

Things growing in our garden, the weeds Kayla and I've pulled and Neil's tilling.

The back hall's fresh coat of blue, yes BLUE primer paint and Rachel's hard work.

Selling a lot of stamping sets and supplies on ebay!! Yup, I'm becoming quite the expert! Maybe I can pay for my hotel in Denver after all!!

Having Dave and Pat around for awhile.

Having the Reed family living next door.

Having a few days to relax at the Randall's camp with just Neil and Kayla.

SwatSticker, or Swastika???

I got the biggest kick out a report our youngest daughter gave me the other day. She said that at their recent girl's time in RI, a certain Mr. Brown talked to them about daughter/parent relationships and mentioned that if they were wanting to get a tattoo of a Swat sticker someplace on their body, their parents might have a problem with that. All the girls apparently sat there, pleasantly nodding their heads and agreeing.

Later they began to compare notes. What's a Swat sticker?? No one seemed to know until one of them realized that what he really meant was not a Swat sticker, but a Swastika!!! So much for that accent!! It'll get you every time! Wonder why they don't just change and talk normally???? He, he, he, just kidding in case you don't know me well enough to know that already!
