Complaining and Grumbling
Okay, everyone thinks that the children of Israel in the Bible had to be the kings and queens of complaining, grumbling and doubting! After seeing all the miracles God did with the plagues in Egypt and watching the whole Egyptian army perish in the Red Sea along with all their kicking, screaming horses and elaborate chariots. . .that should be enough evidence of God and His supernatural power and ability to provide, protect, and lead to last them for a long time. Right? Right!! But in no time at all they were complaining that they had no food, no water, no meat, then that the giants in the promised land were going to destroy their "little ones." What abysmal examples of lack of trust in God! How could they forget so quickly and be such jerks?
But I've decided that I'm an awful lot like the sorry old children of Israel. I tend to do exactly the same thing--forget so quickly what God has already done and begin to fuss and fret about what looks impossible to me at the moment! Don't worry, I really do have lots of times of believing God is going to take care of the next mountain in my world, but sometimes it's hard to keep things in focus and remember that since He's never forsaken me yet, He's not about to now! So once again I raise my Ebenezer. Hither by Thy help I've come!
