Cherilyn Rocks!!

Folks, I have entered a new era in my life. Sit at home with my feet up, watch Andy Griffith, munch popcorn, or stamp, while my thrifty, "seek a bargain, get a bargain" niece goes out and does my shopping for me! Yep! this niece knows all the best prices in all the supermarkets for miles around and she has a notebook where she records everything so she knows which store has what for the cheapest price. She then heads to the stores with notebook and coupons in hand and brings home the bacon!

One day a few weeks ago when I stopped by to drop off some jars for her, she told me that she had found toilet tissue for $.25/roll! She said she had so much of it that she'd be glad to sell it to me! Since the particular brand she mentioned is my favorite and since I think it's not a bad price if I can get it for anything under $.50/roll, after thinking about it I decided to take her up on the offer. I also told her that I'd buy other things from her if she wanted to put out a list of what she had available. She did just that! I sat at home in the warmth and comfort of our 75 degree wood heated house, and "shopped" via e-mail from the list of goodies she had posted. Unfortunately, I didn't act quickly enough so some of the hottest items were already sold, but I still made a haul.

I challenge you to read this list and then see how close you come to guessing what you think I paid for the lot! You won't come even close!

2 16 oz. boxes of Honey Bunches of Oats
2 16 oz. boxes of Wheat Chex
2 20 oz boxes of Cheerios (mind you all these cereals were name brand, not store brand)
2 cans of V8 juice
100 oz box of Electrosol dishwasher soap
4 tubes of toothpaste--Colgate, Crest, Aquafresh, etc.
2 toothbrushes
2 of the 12 roll packs of toilet tissue
2 of the 12.5 oz size bottles of Dawn dish detergent

So you shoppers out there, how much do you think I paid?
