Daniel Bible Study--Wheeeeeee!
Some of us in our church and a number of other churches in the area are doing a Beth Moore Bible Study on the book of Daniel. This is the 3rd Bible Study I've done with her and I think it's my favorite so far. It's broken down into two parts: Living Lives of Integrity and The End Times. We're only doing the first part for now and maybe for always--not sure.
Anyway, what an eye opener to realize that we actually live in Babylon, right here in America! Yep, we really do. Don't worry, I won't bore you with all the things I've learned so far, but a big one is that in Babylon, the mentality at that time was. "I am and there is no one else!" Sound familiar? Wow! That's just the way it is in America right now! What I think, what I like, what I want, what I feel, what seems good to me, what I like to eat, wear, watch, read . . . . and it goes on and on and on! Ugh. Don't you just hate it, or love it?
I heard a good example of it on the radio today advertising a special get away to Las Vegas. In a very throaty, breathy voice, "Sign up toay. Come on, you know you want to, you know you deserve it, you know it's yours for the taking. . ." Yadadadadadada. Ugh, ugh, ugh. May God deliver me from the spirit of Babylon. Even though I live here I don't have to have everything I'd like (even if I could afford it) which thank God I can't! I can just choose to refrain, or abstain or whatever the case may be for the purpose of more genuine fellowship with God in the end run.
I might write more another time, ya never know, because this Bible study is amazing!!
