So What's New?
Christmas has come and gone and 2007 is almost here, but I need to highlight a few happenings of the past couple of weeks.
Kendra came home on the 19th and she, Kayla and I had a chance to do some shopping together--the girls, you know.
Sharon and Kimberly insisted on covering the weekend before Christmas at Fairview so Kim could earn some money and that proved to be my Christmas break! It was so nice to watch the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe Friday evening for the first time, although I didn't make it all the way through--yet. Saturday morning my Mom had a small stroke, but still seemed well enough for us to join the Sandford clan at the Chestnut Hill Homestead for brunch and a catch up visit. That was fun. Then on to Manchester where we watched A Christmas Carol and Chad performing as one of the Ensemble singers. Their best performance yet, I'd say.
Sunday was spent with all the last minute wrapping, pie baking, etc. etc. to get ready for Christmas. Then we'll skip most of the next couple of days. Mama fainted dead away on me Tuesday morning, my sisters both got worried she was about to die and they both drove to be with her--one on Wednesday and one on Thursday. But as far as I can tell, Mama has rallied once again and is still going strong.
Thursday, Neil and I headed up to Old Orchard Beach to enjoy his cousin's beach condo for a few days. It is right on the beach--about 10 yards away and has a panoramic view of the ocean. Wheeee! this is the life of Riley, but I'd get bored with it pretty quickly I think. Our kids will join us tomorrow for New Years' Eve etc. and I'm glad because I miss them. . .More about that in another post. . .
